Gulf Conformity Program

CTUV is authorized by GSO (Gulf Standardization Organization) to issue Gulf Type Examination Certificates / Certificate of Conformity for LVE, Children’s Toys and Water Efficient Fixtures.

The Gulf Mark (G-Mark) is a symbol that indicates a product's compliance with the Gulf Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical (LVE) Equipment and Appliances, Children's Toys and Water Efficiency Fixtures. This regulation ensures that products imported into countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia, meet the necessary health, safety, and environmental standards of the region.

CTUV is a designated organization authorized by the Gulf Standardization Organization (GSO) to issue Certificates of Conformity for LVEs, Children's Toys and Water Efficiency Fixtures that are regulated by the Gulf Technical Regulation. These certificates allow the products to be exported to Saudi Arabia and the entire Gulf region.

Our responsibility is to carry out assessments to determine conformity for manufactures and importers. We evaluate the products and, if they meet the requirements set by the GSO Technical Regulation, we issue the relevant Gulf Type Examination Certificate (GTEC) and/or Certificate of Conformity. These certificates verify that the products comply with the necessary standards outlined in the GSO Technical Regulation.

G-Mark Certification Process

The assessment process for G-Mark Certification is as follows:

  • 01

The manufacture / importer will initiate the application.

  • 02

Once we receive the application request, a dedicated coordinator who is familiar with the local regulations will carefully review the application.

  • 03

The CTUV engineer will thoroughly examine all the required documents and based on that, determine the specific scope of work for the application, including the necessary certification requirements.

  • 04

If necessary, and in order to meet the GSO regulations, the dedicated coordinator will assist in completing the required verifications. They will also help to schedule the testing of samples, inspections, and audits, if needed.

  • 05

Once the results are satisfactory, the Gulf Type Examination Certificate (GTEC) or Certificate of Conformity will be approved and issued. This certificate serves as proof that the product has met the necessary standards and requirements.
